In the La Porte Machine Pitch League, KarahTess Clothing & Lettering nipped Casey’s Lanes 11-10 as Zach Bragg belted two home runs and a single. MJ Perry had three hits, and Ethan Puckett and Noah Dadlow each hit four singles in the win.  Casey’s leading hitters were Sam Sihi with three hits and Shane Forrester and Gabe Kupres with two hits apiece. In the La Porte Little “L” Baseball League, Winn Machine defeated Barry’s Photography 19-6 as Blake Sims and Adam Manering combined for 10 strikeouts. Adam Gasaway pounded out four hits, and Jake Thode and Sims each had three singles. Quentin Stoll added a single for Winn. Ryan Freese and Shane Cornelison struck out eight for Barry’s in suffering the loss. Jose Ochoa, Tyler Norris and Cornelison had hits for Barry’s. Ally Richey, Annalise Warnock and Isabelle Davis pitched for the Chicks (8-4-1). Rebekah Shaffer had a triple and a single, and Payton Neely and Warnock each hit a double and a single. Regan Hague and Ally Zila had a double apiece, while Gabby Latchford posted three base hits. Davis hit a pair of singles, and Alyssa Bruemmer had a single. -->

It is also a good idea to see a model home if there is one available, just to get a better idea of what it will look like.

Find a Large Yard

This is especially important if you have a large family with several small children. Your new home will feel less cramped when the kids are outside playing ball or flying high on the swing set. If you have a large yard, you can get some peace and quiet inside while the kids entertain themselves outdoors. Plus, it helps to have a large patio on which you can enjoy meals and guests.

Decide Which Rooms are Essential

Perhaps your large family doesn’t need a study, but could use two living rooms. Or maybe you don’t mind small bedrooms as long as the family area is large. A big kitchen is desirable for parents who want to cook for their kids and spouse, while some families prefer a formal dining room for holidays and special occasions. Whatever you feel your family needs, specify those desires to your new home builder. He can make adjustments to available floor plans.

Discuss Sound-Proofing Options

When you have a large family, it’s reasonable to assume you’ll create a lot of noise. If your teenage daughter wants to do her homework, will your twin toddler boys bother her while they play with their train set? Having well-insulated walls, carpeted floors, double-paned windows and plenty of furniture to absorb sound will go a long way to making your new home seem larger, even if it isn’t.
