Stargazers' Guide: Just what is a meteor shower?
Before getting started on meteor showers, it may be best to take a minute to explain the difference between a meteor and a meteorite. The difference is whether it makes it to the ground or not. Outer space is filled with trillions of very small rocks and dust particles, and Earth is constantly being hit by this space dust. Scientists tell us that we run into 400 tons of this dust every day. Most of these specks are tiny, usually no bigger than a grain of sand. If it burns up completely before reaching Earth’s surface, it is called a meteor. Once in a very great while, though, we run into something that is so big that it doesn’t burn up completely when it hits our atmosphere, and it ends up on Earth’s surface. If the rock is big enough to survive the trip through our atmosphere and land on the ground, it is called a meteorite. Relating the size of the Solar system to familiar objects can make it easier for people to grasp the relative distances. Most classroom globes are 41 cm (16 inches) in diameter. If the Earth were reduced to this size, the Moon would be a 10 cm (4 in) baseball floating 12 metres (40 feet) away. The Sun would be a beach ball 14 stories tall (somewhat smaller than the Spaceship Earth ride at Epcot) floating 5 kilometres (3 miles) away. The scale is approximately 1:31,000,000.Convert Inches To Metric - News

Tonga are losing touch at 3-20 then get one back which they cannot convert. Italy respond but cannot land the penalty when Tonga are guilty of not rolling away. When Tonga gets a similar opportunity they do not make the same mistake.
Burt failed to convert his own try. The Eels gained confidence when Robson broke the Sea Eagles line and offloaded to a blistering Ben Smith who ran 50 metres before offloading to Hayne. Hayne came within ten metres but was brought down by Jamie Lyon.
Inches to MM's? - Woodwork Forums
G'day Guys, I have taken delivery of my USA built Romaxx WD-1 CNC Router. I have hooked it up to the computer, installed the makers XML file and have the machine up and running (sort of?) using Mach3. I can jog the machine and I have managed to run some of the sample files that came with the set up, I have even managed to take a simple Ferrari logo and dancing horse through my CAM program and ran it with a V cutter. My primary aim with the machine is make guitar bodies, necks, inlays etc. My question is how do I convert everything from inches to MM's? I changed the native units in Mach3 to mm's and then got totally confused in motor tuning to the point, I dumped Mach3, reloaded and dropped in the supplied XML file to start again. How do I get CAM files done in mm's to run Mach3? Cheers Paul. Hey Chris thanks for your reply, I was over thinking it! Just did a T-Style body stl file I found and ran it through my Vectric Cut3D CAM software, did all the measurements and tool paths in mm's and saved the post processer or G code in "G Code arcs inches" loaded it into Mach3 and ran it with a pencil in the collet over a piece of mdf, all good now. Man how steep is the learning curve? I have not even began to look at the CAD side of things yet, cheers anyway, Paul
