10/31/09: Brad Paullin, 29, Des Moines, IA - Footprints At The ...
Brad Paullin , 29, was last seen around 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at a party in Des Moines, Ia. Paullin had been at a friend’s home in the 2600 block of Shawnee Avenue on the city’s north side when the two got angry at each other, and Brad walked away into the woods. At first, when he didn’t return, friends and family just thought he wanted to be by himself for a little while. But when Brad didn’t show up for work that Monday, his parents, Loretta and Bob, knew something was horribly wrong. Police tried to track Brad's cell phone signal, but it was so weak that they could only determine that it was somewhere between Warren county and the city of Johnston. There had been no activity on his debit card. For six days, Des Moines police, along with volunteers on foot, ATV, and horseback searched both banks of the Des Moines River from just north of the Euclid Avenue bridge south to Birdland Park. They did not find any sign of Paullin. Two teams of police officers and search dogs also searched several square miles of the area where the young man was last seen. They, too, found nothing.
