Disaster First Aid kits have arrived
Since Japan's quake in March, the Red Cross shipped all available first aid supplies there, to New Zealand and to U.S. tornado, flooding and fire disaster areas. Those disasters placed the Disaster Preparedness Task Force order for kits on hold until June. In mid-June the first order of 100 kits that were pre-ordered have been picked up by residents anxious to supplement their preparedness supplies.
Our second order of 100 Kits has arrived and are ready to be added to your first aid supplies. The Task Force chose an affordable $15.00 kit with more "after a disaster" type items and compact to fit in our 3-day survival bag. It contains the usual smaller sized bandages but also has an instant cold compress, a CPR face shield, arm sling, 3 and 4 inch gauze dressing pads, large trauma pad, scissors, tweezers, latex gloves and more.
The Disaster First Aid Kits are available in the Disaster Task Force office located on the first floor of the Community Center and open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to noon. Also available, a one person 3-day survival bag with an optional second person kit, face masks individually wrapped for sanitation and may be necessary for air born dirt and dust after an earthquake or smoke and soot from wild fires.

easy to have when you need it small and compact(the size of a condom)and will be owrth more than gold when you need it. the only emergency equiptment that is any good is what you have on you when bad things happen and it’s easy to have on you when you need it. not only for personal prodection but the large plastic sheet also allows you to close a torn open cheek that may leek air which a pocket mask will not do, not to mention most people won’t be carrying a bulky pocket mast when they need it. buy a box and put one in all your cars, wallets and hand bags. i reccomed opening one up to be familiar with it first.
